Requirements of the Returning Resident visa
You need to satisfy a few requirements to admit to the UK for settlement. These requirements vary depending upon the time you have been away from the UK.
You need to apply for a Returning Resident visa if you have been away from the UK for more than 2 years. If you have been away from the UK for less than 2 years, you still need to apply for a Returning Resident visa. You need to comply with the requirements of Immigration to obtain your Returning Resident Visa. If these requirements are not met, your entry to the UK might be refused.
Requirements for entry as a Returning Resident: absent from the UK for less than 2 years
